Help us meet the growing need for counseling services for family caregivers

Did you know that family and friend caregivers in the U.S. provide an estimated $600 billion in unpaid care each year? This eye-opening number, from a 2023 report from the AARP Public Policy Institute, is based on about 38 million caregivers providing an average of 18 hours of care per week. But the families we see spend more than 40 hours per week providing complex care to their relative, friend or partner. And with that comes increased stress, depression, and loneliness (CA CRC Annual Report, FY23).

As the number of caregivers continues to grow steadily year after year, FCA's mission to improve the lives of family caregivers is more vital than ever. As the go-to resource for caregivers of adults with physical and cognitive impairments, FCA occupies the unique role of serving caregivers both locally and at the regional and national levels.

This year, we're asking our friends and supporters to consider making a donation that will allow FCA to meet the growing need for (offer more) caregiver(s) counseling so we can take families off our wait list. These much needed services are aimed at addressing caregivers' most pressing needs, including relieving stress and increasing confidence, as well as providing emotional, legal and financial support.

Whether you wish to make a voluntary contribution specifically to counseling grants or other services or donate to general support of FCA, we hope you will join us in supporting caregivers.

See our 2022 Impact Report to learn how we continue working to support family caregivers.
